1. Who we are
CineKeep (“CineKeep”, “we”, “us”) is a streaming guide application and this marketing website. We do not operate a video streaming service and we do not host movies or television programmes.
Privacy contact: privacy@cinekeep.net
Support: support@cinekeep.net
Website: https://cinekeep.net
If you are a developer filling App Store Connect or Play Console, use this page as the Privacy Policy URL. If a legal entity name or postal address is added before store submission, it will appear in this section.
2. Scope
This policy covers:
- the CineKeep mobile applications for iOS and Android;
- this website, including support, privacy and terms pages;
- communications you send to our email addresses.
It does not cover third-party streaming apps you open from CineKeep (Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and others). Those services have their own policies. It also does not cover TMDB or Movie of the Night as independent products — only our use of their APIs, described below.
3. What CineKeep is (and is not)
CineKeep shows where a title can be watched in your country and information about that title. Playback happens in the official app or site of the streaming service. We do not collect viewing history from those services.
4. Locked stack — only two data services
The CineKeep app talks to exactly two third-party APIs. Nothing else is permitted in the product:
- TMDB (The Movie Database / TMDB APIs) — what a title is (name, overview, images, cast, ratings, trailers).
- Streaming Availability API by Movie of the Night (MotN) — where that title can be watched in your country.
The app does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, crash reporters, Facebook/Google login, Firebase, Adjust/AppsFlyer, AI APIs, or any other third-party kit. We do not use IDFA or GAID. We do not do App Tracking Transparency tracking because we do not track you across other companies’ apps. Series tracking means you follow a show on your device.
This website is a static site on Cloudflare so you can read these pages. Cloudflare is the host of cinekeep.net, not an SDK inside the app.
5. Data we collect
You do not need an account. We do not ask for your name, email or phone inside the app.
5.1 Stored only on your device
- Country / region — auto-detected from the device locale/region (not GPS; we do not use Core Location or Android location permission). You can change it in Settings. That country code is sent to TMDB and MotN so catalogs match where you are.
- Streaming services you pick.
- Keep list and followed series.
- Language, appearance, and whether local alerts are on.
- Last tab / simple UI state.
Clear local data in Settings, or uninstall, removes this. CineKeep does not keep a copy on a CineKeep server.
5.2 Sent to TMDB (to show titles)
When you search or open a title, the app requests TMDB. TMDB may see: search text or title id, your IP address, time, and a normal app user-agent. Purpose: return metadata and images. Legal basis (GDPR): performance of the service you asked for. TMDB’s own policy: themoviedb.org/privacy-policy. API terms: API Terms of Use.
This website and this application use TMDB and the TMDB APIs but are not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB.
5.3 Sent to Movie of the Night (to show where to watch)
When you open where-to-watch, What’s New or Leaving Soon, the app requests MotN with a TMDB/IMDb id and your selected country. MotN may see that request plus IP, time and user-agent. Purpose: return offers and deep links for end users only. We do not resell or republish MotN data as an API or export. MotN: movieofthenight.com/about/api.
Streaming availability information is provided by Streaming Availability API by Movie of the Night.
5.4 Optional local alerts
If you turn alerts on, CineKeep uses the operating system’s local notifications (on-device). It does not send a push token to Firebase, FCM or a CineKeep server. The app refreshes TMDB/MotN in the background and then notifies you locally.
5.5 This website
- Language choice in local storage.
- Cloudflare host logs (IP, user agent, URL) for security and delivery of cinekeep.net.
- If you email us, that mailbox sees your address and message.
5.6 Apple and Google (stores only)
Downloads go through the App Store or Google Play. Those companies process the install under their terms. CineKeep does not take payments. We do not get your card number.
5.7 We do not sell or share for ads
We do not sell personal information (CCPA/CPRA). We do not share it for cross-context advertising. We do not use it for targeted ads. Global Privacy Control is treated as an opt-out of sale/share, which is already our default.
Third parties named above (TMDB, MotN, and Cloudflare for the site) are required by Apple Guideline 5.1.1 to protect user data to the same standard described here for the data they receive. Their public privacy policies apply to their systems. We do not send them Keep lists or your name.
6. Why we process data (purposes and legal bases)
If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Contract / requested service — search, title details and where-to-watch via TMDB and MotN; Keep list on device.
- Legitimate interests — hosting and securing cinekeep.net, answering support mail, preventing abuse. You may object where that right exists.
- Consent — optional on-device alerts (you can refuse and still use the app).
- Legal obligation — responding to lawful requests.
For California (CCPA/CPRA) and other US state privacy laws, we use the limited categories above only to run the guide (TMDB + MotN), host cinekeep.net, and answer you. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics. We do not sell or share. We do not use data for advertising. US users use the same deletion path: privacy@cinekeep.net.
7. Children
CineKeep is a general-audience guide and is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher age defined in your country, such as 16 in some EU states). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, write to privacy@cinekeep.net and we will delete it. Title artwork and synopses come from TMDB and may include mature descriptions; we do not operate a kids profile in v1.
8. International transfers
Our providers (including TMDB, Movie of the Night, Apple, Google and Cloudflare) may process data in the United States or other countries. Where GDPR applies and a transfer tool is required, we rely on the provider’s published mechanism (for example Standard Contractual Clauses) plus the fact that much of v1 data never leaves your device.
9. Retention
- On-device data: until you clear it or uninstall.
- Cached TMDB content on device: no longer than six months (TMDB API Terms).
- Cached MotN availability: short TTL (hours to a day), then refreshed from MotN.
- Support emails: as needed to resolve the request, then up to 24 months unless a legal hold applies.
- Cloudflare logs: host defaults for cinekeep.net.
- TMDB and MotN keep their own logs under their policies. We cannot delete those logs for you.
10. Security
We use HTTPS, store API keys in the app with provider-recommended restrictions, and keep Keep lists on-device in v1 so a CineKeep server breach cannot expose your watchlist. No method of transmission is perfectly secure. Do not send passwords or payment card numbers to our email addresses.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. We honour them globally for CineKeep personal data we control, even when a law does not strictly require it, because the app is designed to be light on personal data.
- Access and a copy of personal data we hold.
- Correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion / erasure (see section 12).
- Portability of data you provided, in a common format where technically feasible.
- Restriction or objection to certain processing, including legitimate-interest processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (for example disable notifications in system settings).
- Do not sell or share (California and some other US states). We do not sell. If that changes, we will provide a “Do Not Sell or Share” control.
- Appeal a refused privacy request, where state law provides an appeal.
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (for example your EU/EEA DPA, the UK ICO, or a US state attorney general).
To exercise rights, email privacy@cinekeep.net. We may need to verify the request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising rights. Authorized agents may submit California requests as permitted by law.
Brazil (LGPD), Canada (PIPEDA / provincial laws), Australia, Japan (APPI), Singapore (PDPA), South Africa (POPIA) and other regimes: write to the same address. We will handle the request in line with the law that applies to you.
12. How to delete your data
This is the deletion mechanism required by Apple and Google:
- On the device: Settings in CineKeep → Clear local data, or uninstall the app. That removes Keep lists, follows, country, services and preferences stored locally.
- Alerts: turn them off in CineKeep Settings or in iOS/Android notification settings. Alerts are local; there is no CineKeep push-token server.
- Anything we hold on a server (support mail): email privacy@cinekeep.net with the subject line Delete my data, or use the form on the Support page. We will delete or anonymise personal data we control unless we must keep a narrow record of a dispute or a legal hold.
We cannot delete copies of title metadata held by TMDB or Movie of the Night, and we cannot delete your Netflix (or other) viewing history — those are not CineKeep systems.
13. Cookies, advertising tracking and Global Privacy Control
This marketing site uses local storage for language only. We do not set advertising cookies. Cloudflare may set cookies strictly needed for security. We do not run third-party ad networks on cinekeep.net.
The app does not read IDFA or GAID, does not call App Tracking Transparency (because we do not track across apps), and does not include advertising SDKs. If a browser sends Global Privacy Control (GPC), we treat it as an opt-out of sale/share — which matches our default of not selling or sharing.
14. Automated decisions
CineKeep does not make legal or similarly significant automated decisions about you. “Pick for me” randomly or by simple filters from titles available on your services. It is not credit scoring and not profiling for advertising.
15. App Store and Google Play disclosures
Fill App Store Connect and Play Console to match this policy. Do not add SDKs later without changing this page first.
App Store privacy labels (nutrition facts)
- Data used to track you: No.
